What does the story of the sending out of the twelve teach Christians today?
Christians today need to stay focused on the task Jesus has called them to - not focusing on possessions and money.
Christians today should try to persuade other people to become disciples, should stand against evil and injustice in the world, should try to help the sick and those in need.

Pointing at those he was teaching, Jesus said ‘here are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and mother and sister.’
