agitate
make (someone) troubled or nervous.
“Daddy becomes agitated when his phone screen freezes that he wants to smash it on the ground.”
gravity
the force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass.
“Gravity is what keeps us from floating off the ground”.
bewilder
cause (someone) to become perplexed and confused.
“He was bewildered when the weather went from sunny to stormy in a matter of minutes.”
reprimand
a rebuke, especially an official one.
“The teacher rebuked his answer about government being too large and needing to be made smaller…even though he knew he was right.”
incredulous
(of a person or their manner) unwilling or unable to believe something.
“No matter how much proof we have about the earth being round, some people are incredulous with it being flat.” (yes, people today still believe the earth is flat)
snare
a trap for catching birds or animals, typically one having a noose of wire or cord. (can be catching a person in a lie)
- “He snared the rabbit and had stew for dinner.”
- “He snared his sister in an online predator sting.”
legitimate
conforming to the law or to rules.
“Is it legitimate for governments to take money from one group of people and give it to another?”
clamber (b is silent)
climb, move, or get in or out of something in an awkward and laborious way, typically using both hands and feet.
“I clambered out of the trench and finally reached the top.”
consult
seek information or advice from (someone with expertise in a particular area).
“It’s a good idea to consult professionals to get a better view of things.”
quench
satisfy (one’s thirst) by drinking.
“It took a gallon of gatoraide to quench my thirst after the long run.”
nimble
quick and light in movement or action; agile.
“You need nimble fingers to work on expensive watches.”
