Courtyard in front of whare tīpuna - sometimes tapu sometimes noa - domain of Tū - where debates occur.

Carved symbol of ancestor, situated on peak of whare nui

Face of ancestor, situated underneath tekoteko at peak of whare nui.

Carved bargeboard on whare nui - symbols outstretched arms of ancestor.

Ridgepole of whare nui - spine of ancestor
