Map projection
a systematic transformation of the latitudes and longitudes of locations on the surface of a sphere or an ellipsoid into locations on a plane.
GPS
stands for Global Positioning System, is a radio navigation system that allows land, sea, and airborne users to determine their exact location, velocity, and time 24 hours a day, in all weather conditions, anywhere in the world.
Thematic Map
a type of map especially designed to show a particular theme connected with a specific geographic area.
Cartograms
a map giving statistical data by means of lines, dots, shaded areas, etc.
Qualitative
of or relating to how good something is : of or relating to the quality of something
Flow-Line
a symbol used to represent linear features that have data values.

Concentric Zone Model
model of the internal structure of cities in which social groups are spatially arranged in a series of rings.
Sector
define the proportion of the population engaged in the activity sector.
Multiple nuclei
A model that shows the different districts of a growing city ( ie: central business district)
Urban realm
The spatial componenets of the modern metroplis, where each realm is a separate economic, social, and polititical entity that is linked together to form the larger metropolitian framework
Edge city
a relatively large urban area situated on the outskirts of a city, typically beside a major road.
