Describe the Mercator Projection.
A
It became the standard map projection for nautical purposes. The Mercator projection distorts the size and shape of large objects, as the scale increases from the Equator to the poles, where it becomes infinite.

Describe the Robinson projection.
A
Created as compromise between globe and map. Distortion is greater the closer you go to the poles.

Describe Goode’s Interrupted Projection.
A
Cuts the world into sections. Usually presented with multiple interruptions.

Best option for pilots. Shows half of the world (with North or South Pole in the center).
