Latitude
Lines that run from west to east across the earth - latitude like FLATitiude - they run horizontal and flat across the earth
Longitude
Lines that run from south north to south down the world- they are vertical - loNgitude, N for north

Eastings
eastings are the numbers that go from left to right in area and grid reference- they go EAST - YOU WRITE EASTINGS FIRST
Northings
the numbers that go up the sides vertically in area and grid reference - they go NORTH - YOUR WRITE NORTHINGS SECOND
Area reference
Area reference is for when you need to find a GENERAL area on a map - you use coordinates and grid squares - you measure it from bottom left corner - IT HAS 4 DIGITS AND U WRITE IT - AR _ _, _ _

Grid reference is for when you want to know the exact
Climate graph
climate graphs show the average temperature and rainfall over a period of time in a certain place - they r represented in a line graph with a bar graph bellow
Directions
u use direction to determine where something is in relation to another - you draw a compass from your starting point and determine which direction one is from the other
Synoptic chart
A chart that indicates weather conditions in a certain area
symbol for rain
shaded lines
symbol for cold front
blue line with triangles facing the direction of the cold front
symbol for warm front
red line with semi circles facing the direction of the warm front
