Describe the Daksa’s sacrifice.
While Siva is married to Sati, Sati’s father does not invite him to his Vedic sacrifice. Sati is deeply offended by this and, in a fit of rage, throws herself into the sacrificial fire. Siva, while grieving the death of his wife, carries her body across India. Parts of her dismembered body fall off into the earth.
What are the three aspects through which the Goddess shapes the cosmos?
Purity, power and darkness

It is believed that the Goddess takes a seat right here in this world at a specific crossing/sacred site. Pithas are the places where Sita’s body parts fell into the earth.

It is a secretive body of teachings and practices meant for an initiated spiritual elite, teaching technical and deeply esoteric knowledge.

It uses Siva’s playful revelation to Sakti.

Worldly enjoyment and ultimate liberation.

The universe is the singular, undivided consciousness of Siva.
