Q

Patella inf glide

A

To gain flexion
Place patient in knee flexion with foot flat on table
Stabilize at the ankle and then apply a force on the patella in an inferior direction

Q

AP Glide

A

to gain flexion
Place knee into flexion with foot flat on table (supine)
Stabilize above the knee and apply a force in the AP direction
Can also do in sitting with knee flexed and stabilize at the ankle

Q

Physiological flexion combined motion

A

can do like an AP to gain flexion but add in add/abd or IR/ER to it also

Q

MET to gain flexion - autogenic inhibition

A

Place them supine with their knee flexed and foot on the table - have them push into you and then as they relax, push them further into knee flexion

Q

MET to gain flexion - reciprocal inhibition

A

Place them supine with knee flexed and foot flat on table - apply resistance to post lower leg and have them push into you - as they relax push them further into flexion

Q

PA

A

to gain extension
Place the patient in prone with some hip extension and slight knee flexion (maybe towel under thigh) - apply a PA force while stabilizing at the ankle

Q

MET to gain extension - autogenic inhibition

A

patient in supine with towel under thigh in their full range extension
Need to rock tibia into ext and ER
“dont let me lift your heel”
As relax move them further into ext

Q

Superior Tibia-fibular joint PA

A

Patient in sidelying with pillow btw thighs
You stand behind them
Move soft tissue out of the way - drop down slightly from head of fibula and push with PA force
