Q

What is the GPWS manoeuvre recall (PF)

A

PILOT FLYING.

  • Disconnect Autopilot
  • Disconnect Autothrottle
  • Aggressively apply Max thrust
  • Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch of 20°
  • Verify speedbrakes are retracted
  • if terrain remains a threat, continue up to pitch limit indicator or stick shaker/buffet
  • do not change gear or flap config until clearance is confirmed
  • monitor RadAlt for sustained or increasing terrain separation
  • when clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate.

Q

Stall and Stall Recovery Manouvre

A
  • PF*
  • Initiate the recovery (smoothly apply nose down elevator to reduce AoA until buffet or stick shaker stops)
  • Continue the recovery (roll wings level in the shortest direction if needed, advance thrust levers as needed, retract speedbrakes, do not change gear or flap config except if during T/O if flaps are up, call for Flaps 1)
  • Complete the recovery (check airspeed and adjust thrust as needed, establish pitch attitude, return to the desired Flight path)
  • PM*
  • monitor Alt and airspeed
  • verify all required actions have been taken, call out omissions, call out any trend towards terrain contact

  • Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate towards an initial 15° pitch
  • verify Speed Brakes are retracted
  • follow FD TO/GA guidance if available
  • Manual or Auto Flight *
  • do not change gear or flap until windshear is no longer a factor
  • monitor vert speed and alt
  • do not attempt to regain lost airspeed until Windshear is no longer a factor
