Maneuvers Guide Flashcards

1
Q

Steep Turns Procedure

A

above 3000 feet AGL

1) clearing turns
2) pick visual reference (note the heading)
3) no flaps, mixture rich, pump on, landing light on
4) Set power to 2300 rpm or 100 knots
5) go into 45° bank
6) maintain altitude: pull back if descending
7) maintain airspeed: add power if slowing down
8) roll out 20° before heading
9) reset power to cruise, lean mixture, pump off, light off

A

above 1500 feet AGL

1) clearing turns
2) 1500 rpm
3) pick visual reference
4) flaps 40°, mixture rich, pump on, light on
5) slow to 60-65 knots
6) maintain airspeed (pitch), maintain altitude (power)
7) may do level flight, climbs/descents, turns
8) recover: max power, maintain altitude, slowly reduce flaps to 0°
