Maneuvers Flashcards
What is a power off stall?
Simulates what can happen during the approach to landing, when the aircrafts nose is pitched too high and airspeed drops. As the angle of attack exceeds the critical threshold, the airflow separates from the wings, leading to a stall. Pitch too high, low power
How do you recover from power off stall?
Lower nose to regain lift, smoothly add power, and keep the wings level. Staying coordinated throughout the recovery is critical to avoid entering a spin
What is a power on stall?
Simulates the conditions during takeoff or a go around when the airplane is under high power and a nose high attitude. When the aircrafts aoa exceeds critical angle, the airflow over the wings separates and the aircraft stalls.
How do you recover from a power on stall?
Recovering from a power on stall is all about maintaining control. First lower the nose to reduce the aoa and restore smooth airflow over the wings. Add full power(if you stalled with partial power) and focus on maintaining coordination and keeping the wings level. Once the aircraft is stable and climbing, retract any flaps used, and continue climbing at vx for best angle or vy for best rate of climb.
