Put up with
To tolerate or endure something unpleasant.
E.g., “Our clients shouldn’t have to put up with poor customer service; we need to address this immediately.”
Do away with
To eliminate or get rid of something.
E.g., “To improve efficiency, let’s do away with the old filing system.”
Edge out
To (narrowly) defeat someone (such as a competitor)
E.g., “We need a stronger marketing strategy if we want to edge out our main rival.”
Phase in/out
To gradually introduce or remove something.
E.g., “The old software will be phased out by the end of the year.”
Double down
To increase one’s effort or commitment to a strategy or course of action.
E.g., “Despite the challenges, let’s double down on our efforts to improve customer satisfaction.”
Bring about
To cause something to happen.
E.g., “Implementing these changes will bring about a significant improvement in our efficiency.”
Turn down
To reject or refuse something.
E.g., “If the offer doesn’t meet our expectations, we should turn it down.”
Pull up
To open/display
E.g., “Can you pull up the latest sales report for us to review?”
