soft engineering

A

soft engineering: is when they build up beaches with sand replenishment schemes. can be expensive, though it makes the coast look better and must be conistently maintained. Examples= beach nourishment and beach scraping

discourage building and development

A

this is a long term measure. it needs coperation of local, state and national governments. and is often unpopular with locals.
Examples= Exmouth

do nothing

A

this may be possible in lowely populated areas but is nearly impossible in highly populated areas.
Examples=between exmouth and carnarvon and exmouth which are both towns with limited development though there is some for tourists.
