Q
trophoblasts and how they bind to the uterus
A
external cells of embryo
Initial attachment: L acin on the surface on the trophoblast, binds to sulfated polysaccharides on the endometrium
the more it binds, the more it adheres… after initial binding this is what happens:
1) cells produce integrins : these bind to uterine collagen, fibronectin
2) P cadherins interactions: between the tryophoblasts and the uterine wall
3)once in contact:Wnt signals secretion of enzymes that digest the uterine wall, allowing the blastocyst to further dig into uterine wall
