what does malware mean?
the term malware means software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorized access to a computer system.
what are viruses?
viruses are a program that spreads by first infecting files or the system areas of a computer or network routers hard drive and then they make copies. it can harm your computer by damaging programs, deleting files or reformatting the hard drive. viruses are most commonly spread via email. to protect yourself you can use VPN or anti-viruses
what is ransomeware
ransomware is a type of malware which prevents you from accessing your device and the data stored in it, usually by encrypting files. ransomware is the most dangerous and damaging type of malware because it not only renders the data but also demands a ransom payment in exchange for it back. ransomware is spread via phishing that contain attachments. use drive-by downloading to prevent ransomware.
what is trojan
a trojan is a type of malware that disguises itself as a legitimate code or software. once trojan infects a device, it executes its task, which may include modifying, deleting, stealing data, installing additional malware and disrupting system performance. trojan uses phishing or any otger social engineering attack.
what is keyloggers
keyloggers can record what a person types on a device, it can be used to identify users and exploit your personal information. hackers and government can remotely install keyloggers and other hidden malware on devices through drive-by downloads and fake software.
what is adware
adware is the term used for various pop-up advertisements that show up on your computer or mobile device. adware is dangerous because it can sell your data to third parties, slowdown your device, change settings and potentially crash your browser. one of the easiest ways to get adware is through malvertising, which delivers adware to your computer after uou click a pop-up
what is a worm
a worm is a virus which has more abilities ( worms are programmed so they can automatically send themselves through networks). while viruses need help to send themselves to other systems, worms do that independently.

what is a DDOS
DDOS ( distibuted denial of service) is a attack where multiple computers are used as bots. they flood a server with lots of requests at the same time. which a computer cant respond to causing it to crash or become unavailable to the user.
what can you use to protet your data
firewalls- firewall monitor ports allowing or blocking, according to rules or set
VPN- VPNs encrypt the data for a connection between device and network so the. data cannot be read
what are proxy servers
proxy servers are for example whenever you connect to the internet, you share your IP address with websites and other web users. a proxy server acts as a server to hide you IP address.
