Causes of malnutrition
A
- Unsuitable dietary choices
- Having a low income.
- Difficulty obtaining food
- Poor quality of diet
- Poor mental health
- War, conflict and natural disasters
- Low socio-economic status
- Intake of malnourished foods.

Symptoms of malnutrition
A
- Tiredness, irritability, inability to concentrate and depression.
- Weight loss and loss of fay, muddle mass and body tissue. lack of appetite for food or drink
- Always feeling cold and higher risk of getting sick.
- Taking longer time to heal diseases and wounds.

Effects of malnutrition
A
- Leads to various diseases in children in the age group of 1-5 years. They are affected by marasmus and kwashiorkor.
- Due to deficiency of vitamins in the diet, they suffer from rickets, scurvy, anaemia etc
- Due to a deficiency of minerals in the diet, they suffer from goiter, muscle weakness, anaemia and deformed teeth and bones.

Measure to prevent malnutrition
A
- Take a balanced diet by including a variety of food items in our daily diet.
- Small children should be fed a variety of food items in adequate amounts along with the mother’s milk for growth and development
- Take an adequate amount of cereals, fruits , milk, eggs and pulses.
- Children should be vaccinations according to the schedule to develop immunity against different diseases.
