A
  • Gametes at required
  • offspring are genetically different
  • examples include- dogs, cats, mammals, etc.
  • pros- you get genetically different offspring, promotes survival , removes bad genes from the population.
  • cons- Requires two parents, takes time/ energy, can prevent favourable genes being passed down, produces fewer offspring.

  • Examples include- Marbled crabs, whiptail lizards, captive sharks, etc.
  • pros- Good for animals that stay in one place, numerous offspring, can be produced without lots of energy/time being used up.
  • cons- there’s a lack of genetic diversity, all share the same weaknesses.
