Q

Scrotum

A

Testes held and supported by skin-covered pouch which appears to be a single pouch but is internally 2. Prod of sperm requires them of 2 degrees lower than normal body temp and therefore lie in the scrotum outside of the body cavity. Muscles relax allowing testes to hang lower to cool of contract and pull closer for protection and warmth

Q

Seminiferous tubules

A

Internally, the testes are divided into 200 and 300 lobules filled with fine tubes called seminiferous tubules. They join to form straight the (epididymis eventually) Between are interstitial cells secreting androgen binding proteins/ testosterone. Lined with cells producing sperm

A

Two small yellowish glands the size of peas beneath prostate on either side of the urethra. Secretes clear mucus which is carrier into urethra by a duct, this secretion acts as a lubricant. Much of it preceded emission of seminal fluid, only small amount in smemn
