Rectal- standing/lying
Phimosis
Inability to retract foreskin
Paraphimosis
Foreskin is retracted and cannot be returned

Inflammation of the glans penis

Displacement of the urethral meatus
Usually congenital
Hydrocele
Non tender, fluid filled mass in testicles
Transilluminates
Variocele
Spermatic cord veins in scrotum
Heavy, dull pain
Does not transilluminate
Epididymitis
Acute inflammation of the epididymis
Tender, swollen testes
Phrens sign
Diff btw diagnoses
Supine, raise testicles
If pain relieved - epidymitis
Pain not relieved- testicular torsion
Cremasteric reflex
Stroking upper medial thigh causes ipsilateral testicle to retract
Intact w epididymitis
Absent w torsion
Also happens w cold
Most prevalent btw ages 2-7
Testicular torsion
Sudden onset of severe pain, tenderness
Most common in adolescents and young adults
Medical emergency
Twisted spermatic cord can impair testicular blood flow
Testicular cancer
Painless nodules
Common in young men
BPH
enlarged, smooth, firm prostate
Urinary hesitancy
Acute prostatits
Infection of prostate
Dysuria,frequency, hesitancy, rectaain
TENDER, enlarged, boggy prostate
May have back pain
