Beliefs methods and involvement with the NOI
Had a troubled childhood . His father was killed in a racial attack
He believed non violent methods did not work because apparently white people would never consider black people as equal
He became a member of the nation of islam arguing black and white people should remain segregated
His policies related well to angry young citizens wanting change to happen quicker
He left the NOI in 1964 and completely changed his beliefs . Adopting a more MLK approach . He now considered violence as unacceptable and that non violent methods could work well
Malcom X assassination
The NOI assassinated him a year after he left them
They were angry how he criticised them and how he rejected most of their values on separatism.
He met SNCC and CORE to explore the possibility with working together shortly before his death
His legacy
Sadly after his death many young Americans chose to adopt his older values of violent protests choosing to ignore all the peaceful work he had began to dl
