Well, at first I came to Mexico because it was the only border that was open during the pandemic.
Bueno, al principio vine a México porque era la única frontera que estaba abierta durante la pandemia…
I was in the U.S. (Colorado) and my visa expired.
Estaba en Estados Unidos - en Colorado - y mi visado caducó.
I had a plane ticket to Costa Rica but my flight was cancelled because the border of Costa Rica closed.
Tenía un billete de avión a Costa Rica, pero mi vuelo se canceló porque la frontera de Costa Rica se cerró.
Incidentally, I had a friend who was living here in San Cris at that time. She told me that I could easily fly to Mexico, so I did.
Por casualidad, tenía una amiga que vivía aquí en San Cris en aquella época. Me dijo que podía volar fácilmente a México, así que lo hice.
At first I only intended to stay for about 6 months, but more than 3 years later and here I am still.
Al principio sólo pensaba quedarme unos 6 meses, pero más de 3 años después y aquí sigo.
What do you do for work? I write digital marketing materials for businesses in the US, UK and Australia.
