Q

What is the process of making soluble salts using a metal oxide/hydroxide?

A
  1. Add excess metal oxide/hydroxide to your acid and stir to dissolve to form a salt.
  2. Filter out the excess.
  3. Allow H2O to evaporate leaving the salt.

Q

What is the process of making soluble salts using an alkali and acid? (titration)

A
  1. Add exactly the right amount of acid and alkali using the indicator to give the exact neutralisation.
  2. Repeat with the same volume without indicator to avoid contamination.
  3. Evaporate off water, leaving the salt.
