The comparatives and superlatives are formulas used in everyday language to compare the degree of qualities or inequlaties of people or things. This lesson will only cover the comparatives.
How many formulas are there?
For this lesson, we will cover 11 formulas. You alreadly know six of those formular from Spanish 1.

Let’s talk about the structure of the sentence.
There are FOUR STEPS in each sentence:
subject 1 + conjugated verb + formula + subject 2
For example:
_Pancho es_ menos talentos_o_ que Pepito.
- Pancho + es + menos talentoso que + Pepito.*
- Luisa tiene tantos libros como Lucita.*
Pancho + tiene + tantos libros como + Pepito.
Rules to Remember for each of the four steps.
1) Subject 1: any noun
2) Conjugated verb: must agree with subject 1
3) Formula:
if it has an adejctive - the adjective agrees with subject 1
if it has a noun - the noun agrees with tanto, tanta,
tantos, tantas
