Defintion:
A
Loss of more than one blood volume within 24hours (70ml/kg = >5 litres in 70kg adult)
50% of total blood volume lost in less than 3 hours
Bleeding in excess of 150ml/minute

Major trauma PPH Intraoperatively Ruptured AAA GI bleed

What bloods need to be done?
What type of blood needs to transfused first?

FBC
Group and save
Clotting
O negative blood - usually FFP + RBC together
