Description of pain

A

-constant: inflammatory component, go slow

-intermittent: mechanical component, may tolerate tissue movement

-throbbing: circulatory component (ex. Migraine headache, smashed thumb)

-sharp, shooting: nerve root

-intensity: scale of 0-10 to subjectively quantify
