Why is consulting the manual particularly important for thermal printers?
Because they vary a lot and are very specific.
What should you do to extend the lifespan of a thermal printer?
To extend the life of the printer, dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol to clean the heating element. Do this on a regular basis. The heating element is located near the slot where the printed paper emerges. While the printer is open, use compressed air or a lint-free cloth to remove any debris.
What should you do about impact printer maintenance?
Verify if the issue if with the ribbon or the print head.
If it produces faded or light characters, the ribbon will need replacing.
If there is a consistent flaw with all characters, then the print head is stuck/broken and needs to be cleaned/replaced.
What are the three factors for maintaining a 3D printer?
