What is Madelung deformity ?

Development deformity of the distal radius and carpus region caused by premature fusion of the distal epiphysis.

what can cause madelung deformity ?
A
Trauma involving the growth plates.
Infections
Vascular insufficiency.

what does Madelungs look like radiographically ?
A
Dorsal and radial bowing of distal radius and ulna.
The radiocarpal joint points towards the palmar ulnar aspect of the distal radius.
Carpal subluxation
Positive ulna variance.
V shaped proximal ulna row.
