Q

what are the most importand functions of the 4 lobes.

A

Frontal lobe: is generally where higher executive functions including emotional regulation, planning, reasoning and problem solving occur. Also contains primary motor cortex, the major region responsible for voluntary movement.
Parietal lobe: are responsible for integrating sensory information, including touch, temperature, pressure and pain. Sensation and spatial awareness.
Occipital lobe: visual processing
Temperal lobe: auditory processing.

Q

Where is the pituitary glad located and what is it connected to in the brain. To which part of the diencephalon is the pituitary gland connected?

A

The pituitary gland is located in a bony depression called the Sella turcica. The pituitary gland is connected to the brain through the pituitary stalk, also known as the infundibulum. The pituitary gland is connected to the hypothalamus.
