Macbeth is shown to want to hide his dark feelings and he wants his secret desire for the throne to be covered in darkness. As he wants to cover the fact that he is willing to do anything to achieve his ambition of becoming king. “Stars hide your fires” Macbeth wants the darkness to shroud him. He does not want anyone to see what he plans to do next. Not even the stars. Macbeth asks stars to give him darkness to cover his “black and deep desires.”
