Q

when you cut the muscle belly in half and look in it, what components do you find?

A
  • epimysium: connective tissue on the surface that ensheath muscle
  • perimysiom: connective tissue in the muscle that surrounds individual muscle fascicles (fiber bundles)
  • muscle fibers: long cylinders coming out of muscle. theyre individual multinuceluated cells and are 50 microm diameter.

Q

If you cut through a single myofibril, what do you see?

A

it is made up of z discs that divide the myofibril into compartments. Space between them is 2.1 micrometer
