A

-follow a consistent simple style of writing
-do not erase any recorded data, instead put a line through it and put the correct value on top
-write directly immediately following measurements instead of writing on a scratch paper for copying
-use a sharp pencil
-if the whole page is to be deleted, a line is drawn from the opposite corners and the word “void” is lettered prominently
-bring along a straight-edged ruler and protractor
-avoid misunderstanding, use sketch other than tabulations and use self-explanatory notes
-avoid crowing of observed data
-indicate north sign and meridian arrow on top
-number every page
