Q

What is the declination station

A

We declinate to determine declination constant of instruments and to correct for local attractions, annual variations and instrument errors

Q

How is the remainder calculated

A

Subtract mounting azimuth from declination constant.

6250-4200=2050

If declination constant is smaller than mounting azimuth, add 6400.
Mounting azimuth = 0150
Declination constant =6250
6550-4200=2350

Q

4 reasons to declinate

A

1- when aiming circle moved 25mi or more
2- after electrical storm or severe shock to equipment
3- every 30 days
4- when initially received and when returning to maintenance
