Q

ALK rearrangements in DLBCL versus ALCL

A

ALK+ DLBCL: CLTC-ALK (aka clathrin-ALK) is most common, resulting in localization of ALK to clathrin-coated pits. Gives a cytoplasmic granular appearance to ALK IHC.

ALK+ ALCL: NPM1-ALK (aka nucleophosmin-ALK) is most common, resulting in diffuse nuclear and cytoplasmic localization on ALK IHC.
