Q

What is Filteration (blood capillary pressure) influenced by and where is the pressure greatest?

A

It is influenced by interstitial pressure and is greatest on the arterial side and less on the venous side.

Q

Describe the Process of Lymphoedema

A
  1. Lymphoedema is caused by an accumulation of protein rich fluid in the intersititum.
  2. The interstitial fluid stagnates with the accumulation of protein, macromolcules, hyauronic acid, fat, water and cell debris.
  3. Hypertension develops causing further damage.
