More than 2g of the root is toxic to adults. 10 or more berries are fatal to children, 1/2oz is fatal for adults

N/V, tingling throughout, hypotension, respiratory failure, severe gastroenteritis, diarrhea, bone marrow depression, death from respiratory or cardiac depression
