Q

What tonsils are found within Waldeyer’s Ring and where in the ring are they found

A

Lingual tonsils - anteroinferior part of the ring (posteiror base of tongue)

Palatine tonsils - lateral part of ring (swollen and visible in tonsillitis)

Tubal tonsils - lateral part of ring

Pharyngeal tonsils (adenoids) - posterosuperior part of ring

17
Q

What are two common causes of lymphadenopathy and how are they distinguished

A

Infection - more common in children and young adults. Feel tender and mobile. History of infective symptoms

Malignancy - more common in older patients. Feel hard, matted and non-tender. WIll have other signs of malignancy
