11
Q

Describe how to use a Periotomes

A
  1. Insert blade path the long axis of the tooth
  2. Tip of the peristome should be located within the crest of the alveolar bone
  3. Push instrument deeper into PDL space
  4. Wait 10-20 secs in situ to allow for bone expansion
  5. Gently push the Periotome down the PDL towards the apex
  6. Now use the Periotome like a lever

13
Q

How do we use luxators

A
  1. Insert towards root surface to the apex
  2. Apply axial pressure as you work down the root surface
  3. Gently rock to sever the PDL- this creates space to create an ai gap
  4. Deliver with forceps

A
  1. Lever
  2. Wedge
  3. Wheel and axis
18
Q

Name the 3 elevators we can use

A
  1. Couplands (1,2,3)
  2. Warwick James (Straight and curved)
  3. Cryers (Right and left)
19
Q

What can cryers be used to do

A

Can be used to remove a retained root of mutirooted teeth
