Any 4 of: MD SOAP BRAIN Malar rash Discoid rash Serositis Oral ulcers Arthitis Photosensitivity Blood features Renal features ANA + Immunology features Neuro features
What haematological features are associated with lupus?
Anaemia
Leukopenia
Thrombocytopenia
What renal features are associated with lupus?
Proteiuria
Cellular casts in urine
What immunological features are seen with lupus?
Anti dsDNA
Ro
Smith
What neuro features are associated with lupus?
Unexplained seizures/psychosis
What investigations are done for lupus?
Antibodies -ANA -Anti dsDNA -Ro -Smith FBC, U&E, CRP, ESR, LFTs Urinalysis
What is the management of lupus?
- NSAIDs, steroids, hydroxychloroquine
2. Azathioprine/ methotrexate, tacrolimus, ciclosporin, biologics
What are some complications associated with lupus?
Lupus nephritis Neuropsychiatric lupus Infection Anaemia of chronic disease Interstitial lung disease Recurrent miscarriage CV disease
How does neuropsychiatric SLE present?
Optic neuritis
Transverse myelitis
Psychosis
