Lumbopelvic Spine Intervention: Back Pain w/ Movement Coordination Impairments (Lecture 4) Flashcards
Expected findings: back pain w/ movement coordination impairments:
Expected findings:
* Low back pain and/or low back-releated lower extremity pain that worsens w/ sustained postures
* Lumbar hypermobility w/ posterior to anterior PA segmental mobility (PAVIUM) testing
* Positive prone instability test
* Diminished trunk and pelvic region muscle strength, endurance, and neurmuscular control
* Aberrant movements w/ lumbar active motion testing
Postpartum expected findings (after pregnancy)
* positive ASLR, posterior pelvic pain provocation, and +ve trendelenburg test
* Pain provocation w/ palpation of the long dorsal SI ligament of pubic symphysis
Movement coordination impairments may be present in someone that is calssified into the symptom modulation classification
* Pain –> alterated movement
* Directly addressing them is not the focus if individual classified into symptom modulation category
The pain might make them look like the have an abbrent motion
Directly addressing those abrent movements might not be the best bet
the first thing we want to do is calm down those symptoms
For those matched into movement control
Global stability: activiation:
* training to activate isolated muscles
