SIJ pain provocation tests
cluster of tests a positive test is pain produced in 3/4 tests and shows a problem with the SIJ
compression
model in side lying arms crossed over chest plinth low therapist standing behind patietn at hips
both hands one on top of the other on uppermost illiac crest downward force generated from shoulders weight transferance
pain= positive
distraction
model in supine arms crossed over chest plinth low therapist standing at hip level
place both hands on each ASIS and apply a downward inward force
pain= positive
thigh thrust
model in supine arms crossed over chest plinth low therapist standing on opposite side of affected leg unaffected leg out straight affected leg flexed to 90 degress therapist hand palm down under sacrum of affected leg other arm holdong bent leg at the knee
downward force applied in line with femur
pain= positive
gaenslens
modle in supine at the edge of plinth close to therapist plinth low therapist stands on oppoiste side to side being tested. Flex affected leg to 90 degrees and grab at their knee thigh close to their trunk the unaffected leg off the side of the plinth bent dangeling then push down on unaffected leg towards the floor just above the knee
post rot force on affected ilium
ant draw on unaffected ilium
pain= positive
