- superbus presided over all capital crimes: anyone threatening his control of rome was accused of a capital crime and sentenced to death: by doing this, he removed servius supporters and established his tyranny
- senates influence decreased until he stopped consulting them altogether

- turned plebs into labourers: forced to modernise the circus maximus and cloaca maxima and to construct several temples

archeological proof

- excavations at Sant Omobono indicate this was a period of rapid expansion. Many 7th and 6th century temples found, as well as remains of cloaca maxima suggesting that a canal was also constructed during this period
