What was Sulla’s contribution in the Social War
Sulla was a general in the Social War and was basically credited with winning it. He vastly outshone Marius and captured Aeclanum in 89 BCE, bringing the war to an end.

Sulla was elected consul in 88BCE off the back of his Social War heroics.
Why did Sulla have to flee after his consulship?
Sulla had to flee to where his Social War Veterans were camped due to violence erupting after Marius and Sulpicius convinced the Assemblies to grant Marius command against Mithridates.
Outline Sulla’s first march on Rome.
After having to flee after losing Mithridatic command to Marius, Sulla marched on Rome with 6 legions behind him. He argued that the Mos Maiorum had been disregarded as it was the consuls right to fight the wars under his rule.
