Slang for rower who rows both starboard and port

Rower closest to the bow (front)
Coxswain
Prounounced “cox’n”
The oarless crew-member who steers, gives commands, and executes the practice plan or race strategy. The coxswain either sits in the stern or lies in the bow of the boat.

Port
A sweep rower who rows with the oar on the Port (left) side of the boat
Sculler
Rower w/2 oars

A rower’s position, counting up from the Bow

A Sweep Rower who rows with the oar on the Starboard side
Stroke (seat)
Rower closest to the stern
Responsible for stroke rate and rhythm - timing is following by the other rowers
