What are the offences a person can commit under section 31
a) Drive motor vehicle on a road with expired licence or without appropriate driver.
b) Drive a mv contrary to the conditions of their driver licence
c) Are the driver of a mv and fail to produce their driver licence for inspection without delay after being required to do so by an enforcement officer
d) Fail to return their driver licence to NZTA when required to do so.
Max. Penal. fine not exceeding $1000
What section should a driver return their DL and for what reason?
Section 30
Licence is suspended or revoked
Is disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver licence
Has their licence suspended by another licence (new licence issued).
What is section 32?
Driving while disqualified.
A person commits an offence if they drive a motor vehicle on a road while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver licence OR Contrary to a limited licence OR while their driver licence is suspended or revoked.
Disqualification means
Total.
Defendant is not allowed to drive.
Disqualified as a result of traffic incident while driving a car, they are not allowed to ride motorcycles or drive trucks.
