Assumptions
- Minor flaw
- a gap between P & C
- S.t. the author believes but probably should not–not stated, not proved

- That are irrelevant to the conclusion
- Are too vague
- Are stuck in the evidence
With Necessary assumptions what do you need to do: prove or match the conclusion?
Match it!
Watch for neutral language in your POE and select the one with it.
Assumptions are essential to arguments such that:
argument→assumption
~assumption→~argument
