Q

What is the MCP?

A

The MCP is one of the 46-inch touchscreens in the VCR. It displays a geographical layout of the airport, showing the status of the AGL and it allows control of the taxiway routing

Q

What is the RCP?

A

The RCP allows for the control of the runway entry/exit points and the green taxiway lighting within the RHA, including the use of lead-ons. Priming and activating crossing routes. RGB suppression is also controlled from the RCP, along with setting the active status of the runway, off, DEP, ARR, MIXED and the use of CAT I or CAT III holding points.

Q

How is an RGB suppressed

A

By selecting the appropriate bar on the RCP. This will remain suppressed indefinitely if the runway status is OFF. If it is on as ARR, MIXED or DEP then there will be a timer before the bar is reinstated automatically.

16
Q

What is a blue alarm on any of the AGLCS panels?

A

A partial loss of control, so a path may have some lights or still be usable, but it wont operate at full capacity with full control.

17
Q

What can it mean when a cyan colour shows on the alarm panel bar at the top of one of the panels with regards to an AGLCS failure?

A

A Programmable Logic Controller failure has occured and the control system is unsure of the status of the AGL. If the fault is on the A&R screen, the CCR boxes may be greyed out, while on the RCP and MCP a portion of the AGL or whole sub would be greyed out on the panel, and the lights will still be illuminated in the field as previously set.

18
Q

What does an AGL feedback Fault mean?

A

The AGLCS detects the feedback from each light segment and this signal determines with the system whether the lights are working or not. Sometimes the feedback may not be correct. The result of this is a fault may show on the panel, but on the airfield the red and greens are working as they should be.

19
Q

If the AGL calibration crashes on the panel, how do you fix it?

A

The program can be restarted by touchine the screen with a finger at the middle point and run it down diagonally towards the left corner for about 10cm. The screen will then refresh.

20
Q

How do you disable or enable a path or junction?

A
  • Press Taxiway Controls
  • Press Enable/Disable Path/Junction
  • Select the path/junction to enable/disable
21
Q

On which panel is a lead on given

A

RCP

22
Q

On which panel is a lead off given?

A

MCP

23
Q

Can a lead on and lead off be independently disabled?

A

Yes, they must be done via their respective panels

24
Q

What must you do on the MCP if a runway closes?

A

Draw a “runway closed” OSI

25
Q

Is it possible to transfer OSIs from MCP to RCP?

A

No, they must be done seperately

26
Q

How do you junction override a block

A
  • Menu
  • Maint
  • Junction Override
  • Select the block and confirm
27
Q

What status of the runway is set in order to enable a walking inspection on the runway?

A

The runway must be set to off

28
Q

By selecting yes to confirm the activation of a walking inspection to a runway, what will happen with the runway lights?

A

All lead ons, lead offs, crossing routes and CAT III RGBs will come on.C

29
Q

Can an RGB be suppressed during the activation of a walking inspection?

A

No

30
Q

Who is responsible for the preselection of the crossing route when the AGL is on?

A

The LPO, and AIR needs to coordinate with the LPO if they wish to change it

31
Q

Who is responsible for the selection of the correct runway direction status and mode of operation on the RCP?

A

AIR

32
Q

How are CAT III bars selected on the AGLCS?

A

Using the RCP

33
Q

Can a path or junction be disabled or enabled in the RHA using the MCP?

A

No, this must be done using the RCP

34
Q

What happens to the AGL when the HAP is selected when the reds and greens are on?

A

The block including L43 and L44 has a “H” that illuminates. The greens are suppressed and the red bars surrounding this area are illuminated.
