WHAT IS THE 800’ CADASTRAL MAP?
800’ Cadastral Map – scale 1” = 800’
print size is 17” x 21” (this is a ½ size
reduction of the 400’ map and includes
7 digit numbering system).
This map is used in the black covered field books carried on all fire apparatus. In this map book, you will find a freeway interchange index map, freeway interchanges, overview of LAX, overview of major colleges and hydrant symbols.

print size is 11” x 15” (this is a
2/3 size reduction of the 400’ map and
includes 7 digit numbering system).
The 1200’ Cadastral map is found in
the red binder and is probably the
most often-used map book.
Found in this map book is City of Los Angeles street index, Index of Canyons and Fire Roads. Streets are double line delineated, hydrants are marked by symbols with main sizes. 1200’ Cadastral maps are carried on all emergency vehicles.

WHAT IS THE 1200’ COMMUNICATION MAP?
1200’ Communication Map – scale 1” = 1200’; print size is 42” x 84”. These are used in roller maps or large panel maps. Streets are delineated as a single line. 9-Maps needed to cover city.
WHAT IS THE 2400’ COMMUNICATION MAP?
2400’ Communications Map – scale 1” = 2400’; print is 42” x 84” for Valley and Metro – W.L.A. composites, 21” x 30” for the Harbor. These are used in the roller maps or larger panel maps requiring coverage of a larger area. These maps are ½ size reductions of the 1200’ Communications Map that have been spliced to form three panels that cover the city.
