Q
Describe the pelvic bones
A
3 irregular bones - ilium (false pelvis) & ischium and pubis (true pelvis). These bones create the acetabulum where the femoral head articulates against the lunate surface. Anteriorly and posteriorly there are the superior and inferior iliac spines for muscle attachments, as well as posteriorly the greater and lesser sciatic notches. The iliac crest (wing of pelvis) also hosts many muscle attachments. The ischial spine makes your ‘sitbones’.
