A C-shaped piece of tough, rubbery cartilage that acts as a shock absorber between your shinbone and thighbone.
Meniscus
A tendon attaches to the outer part of the midfoot, while the other tendon runs under the foot and attaches near the inside of the arch
Peroneal tendon
The lateral ridge on the inside of the femur serving as the main site of insertion of the gluteus maximus muscle
Gluteal tuberosity
A flat sheet or ribbon of tendonlike material that anchors a muscle or connects it with the part that the muscle moves
Aponeurosis
A longitudinally-oriented ridge on the posterior aspect of the femur to which several muscles of the thigh attach
Linea aspera
Any of several fibrous bands of fascia that pass over or under tendons (as at or near the ankle or wrist) and help to keep them in place.
Retinaculum
Refers to anatomical structures located in the back of the knee:
Popliteal
A cutaneous nerve it provides only sensatio; posterolateral aspect of the distal third of the leg;
Sural
A ridge on the superior ramus of the pubic bone , it passes to the pubic tubercle as a continuation of the arcuate line .
Pectineal line
A cup-shaped rim of cartilage that lines and reinforces a ball-and-socket joint
