- they decide to use Roger instead of a boar and start attacking him
- some of the boys go on a hunt, Jack returns claiming to have seen a monster

- jack calls an assembly and tells the rest of the boys about the monster
- they go to hunt for it but Simon slips off and goes to where he was the other day where he saw the beast
- the beast started taking to him
- Simon was mortified and fainted

- Simon wakes up and finds the dead parachutist, he then goes to tell the boys it is not just them on the island
- the boys are in a frenzy, chanting in a group again
- as Simon approaches the boys, they don’t stop their frenzy and kill him
- the storm washes Simon away into the ocean

- most of the boys have now joined Jack’s tribe
- Jack, Maurice and Roger attack Ralph’s camp and steal Piggy;s glasses
